Hello Universe. I\u2019m here at last.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Today is the day my new life starts.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

There are some things you must know.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

They are important as I grow.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Love is what I need to feel and see.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

No matter how imperfect I may be.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

It\u2019s not important if I don\u2019t make the grade.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Just be happy that I stayed.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Help me to strive for personal best.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

No matter what the result is on the test.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t matter if I do or don\u2019t win.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t show what you\u2019ve done in between.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I\u2019m not your reflection of failure or success.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I am my own person who will do my best.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I can only do this with support and care.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

To keep going with or without you there.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

But also your time is precious to me.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Something that is absolutely free.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Not the things you might buy me to fulfill a void.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Of promises unkept and happy memories destroyed.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

At times I will want to be like the rest.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Help me to know what really is best.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

To value myself and all I bring.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

To not want more of anything.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

To see what I have is more than enough.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

To be happy inside knowing I\u2019m loved.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

To see the true beauty I have within me.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

To know I am special with all that I see.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I also need you to value me too.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

In everything I choose to do.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Mistakes I will make, this I know.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

They will help me to learn as I grow.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Please let me be what I want to be.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

It is important that I am me.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Not like others or even like you.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I must be happy with what I do.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I am not a prize or a possession.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I must find my own unique and true mission.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

A life that will help me fulfill my dreams.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Without the tantrums and the screams.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

If you really love me then set me free.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I will pave the way for my own destiny.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I will choose who to love and what I will do.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I will face the hurt and the pain of it too.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

You don\u2019t need to lift me when I am down.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Just be there to listen without the frown.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

One day just like you I will be old and grey.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I will look back and know what to say.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

You listened and gave me what I asked for.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

And I will pass this on to the ones I adore.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I will thank you for showing me what life is about.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The light within me will never burn out.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I will stand tall and say to myself and all.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Thanks for the life I came here for.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
